Astrea (Astraea sp.) snails are the staple in reef and fish only aquariums for eating the daily diatom growth and micro algae that accumulates faster than we would like. These are great for grazing on algae when it sprouts up so it does not get out of control.

We recommend 2 - 3 Astrea per gallon. If you have other grazers such as Turbos or Cerith you can use fewer.
